The Lynwood Drive Church of God was established in June of 1975. After months of making this vision a reality, the church was set forth on Sunday June 29, 1975.
Eleven members were taken into this vacant store front building that would become the "East Lancaster Curch of God".
They would remain here until November, 1977 when they would relocate to Lynwood Drive where they had purchased a former church building.
This building would become "Home" to a lot of people. People would be saved, sanctified, filled with the Holy Spirit. Lives transformed, people healed , hearts mended and families and friends united to share the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
In 1993 we finished a new building and would move into it, tearing down the older building.
Our church offers several programs to reach people of all ages. We have
a wonderful Sunday School Department. We have Boys & Girls Clubs on Wednesday nights. Our youth have a drama team "Salute"( Shining A Light Until The End ) They get the priviledge of going out to other churches to share their love for God thru drama. Our youth enjoy youth conferences such as Ignite & Shabbach.
Our Girls Clubs are very active offering "Prayer Mothers" to all our girls.
We get to go to Mauldin every year for their Jamboree, while our boys enjoy PFC campouts and other events.
Our seniors "Young @ Heart enjoy a retreat every year. They have occasional meetings to share laughs and good times.
There is really too much to mention. We have something for everyone..
